The Manor started
this league game in positive mode and given the weather
conditions played some excellent attacking football.
Their wide players, Dean Frett and Joe May were especially
prominent .
The defence was
solid and the midfield lively and incisive and up front
their was pace and good movement off the ball. Barkingside
were being well held and it was no surprise when after
17 minutes the Manor opened the scoring. Dean Frett
was sent away down the right flank after a great ball
from midfield and his excellent cross was only partially
cleared and the ball fell to frontman Jerry
Nkrumah who made no mistake, shooting low into
the far corner.

The first goal
spurred the Manor on even further and their supremacy
brought about even more chances but these were spurned.
Even so the Manor still stretched their opponents and
in the 42nd minute a pin point cross from Keiron King
was head firmly into the net , again by Jerry Nkrumah,
to make it 2-0.
With half time
looming and with Barkingside struggling to make any
impact the Manor defence gifted them a goal in the 45th
minute to now make the score 2-1. After the interval
the heavens opened and Barkingside with the elements
in their favour threw everything they had at the Manor.
They started to contest the midfield and displayed pace
and movement up front that was lacking in the first
half. Even so the experienced Manor defence should have
been able to handle this, but with the ball zipping
and skidding about the opposition soon ran in 2 goals
to now take the lead 3-2.
It must be said
that a lot of teams would have wilted under in this
situation but the Manor tightened up somewhat and pressed
forward for the equaliser. A couple of reasonable chances
were missed before Richard Simpson,
moving up from the back, drove home through a crowd
of players to bring the Manor onto level terms, 3-3.
This in fact
was the final result, with both sides having contributed
to an excellent game. Click

Man of the match
for the Manor was Joe May whose mazy
runs down the flank made numerous openings for the Manor.
Manager
Kevin Durrant said, " We should
have killed the game off in the first half and it came
as a great shock to my team to go from being comfortable
at 2-0 to going 3-2 down. None of us are happy with
that but we showed great character to come back and
get the draw."
