Match
Report By Alex Lee
Manor used this
match to give opportunities to several triallists and
some squad players.
Manager Kevin
Durrant was also forced to play striker Junior Abod
as a defender due to the absense of his regular central
defenders.
On the night
the Manor came up against a very good Stanway side who
took the lead after 5 minutes.
New Manor striker
Courtney Linton looked a real find and his pace and
control led to him scoring a great equaliser with a
shot into the top corner. Manor, however looked exposed
at the back and they were given a torrid time by the
visitors who ran in 3 more goals before half time to
effectively put the game beyond the reach of the Manor.
On the plus side
the Manor had managed to carve out some good chances
and with a little bit of Lady Luck could have had one
or two more goals to their credit.
The second half
continued in much the same vein as the first with the
Manor looking quite lively going forward but suspect
when forced to defend.
The visitors
notched 2 more goals and ran out worthy winners, 6-1.
Subs used by the Manor, Jordan Childs, Ben Thomas and
Terry Edwards showed a lot of ability and Manager Kevin
Durrant and his staff were especially pleased with their
contribution. Man of the Match for the Manor was keeper
and skipper for the night, Nick Wilson who produced
some outstanding saves and led by example.
