Manor welcomed
new signings Remi Nelson and Laide Adeyemi to the squad
, brought in by Manager Kevin Durrant to replace the
injured Scott Lovett and the apparently departed Jordan
Childs.
The Manor were soon in control of this game against
an APSA side operating with a solitary striker. New
boy Remi Nelson was soon in action down the left flank
and his close control and crossing ability troubled
the home side. The Manor were quite prepared to pass
their way out from the back and dominated the game.
Following a foul on Courtney Linton up stepped Joe May
to deliver a great free kick into the opposition box
and Dean Frett ghosted in to head the opener after 15
minutes.
London APSA's
attacks never gave the Manor defence any real problems
and after a hopeful through ball was collected by Manor
keeper Nick Wilson, his precise clearance was fastened
onto by Remi Nelson whose excellent touch and control
enabled him to glide through a static defence and put
the Manor two up after 32 minutes.
London APSA were
now forced to change their game plan and push forward
more attackers. The Manor defence remained untroubled
and half time came with no addition to the score. The
visitors now had the benefit of the wind but curiously
were not playing initially with the same tempo as in
the first half. London APSA did start to now get into
the game and Manor keeper pulled off an important save
to deny them a goal. This alarm proved to be be the
wake up call the Manor needed and they once again to
charge when Remi Nelson had a great strike well saved
by the APSA keeper but the ever industrious Dean Frett
was on hand to slot home the Manor third goal on 75
minutes. Manager Kevin Durrant used his subs now for
the Manor. Laide Adeyami coming on up front and Ben
Thomas down the right flank.
The home side
were now visibly tired and wilting. On 85 minutes, a
Manor challenge up front, led to the ball breaking free
to the dangerous Joe May who hit a screamer into the
top corner from 30 yards to put the visitors four up.
This was soon followed by a fifth and final goal when
Remi Nelson latched onto a great through ball and he
finished in style by lobbing the keeper.
Man of
the Match for the Manor, new signing Remi Nelson whose
all round ability up and down the pitch showed that
he is a force to be reckoned with. Manager Kevin Durrant
said, "We were at pains to emphasise to the team
before the game just how important it was to keep our
momentum going and apart from a spell in the second
half we played very well . We are playing with belief
and confidence and getting the results we deserve"
