Eton Manor Travel
up the A13 to visit their old friends and rivals Southend
Manor. The Braves Manager Graham Chester with some selection
concerns has no less then 6 regular first team players
out through injury or suspension. The successful front
pairing of Kunle Adeoye and Anton Stephenson with 58
goals in competitive matches between them this season
both missing, along with Midfield battlers Lee Smith
and Neil Barratt, others missing were Courtney Mclean
and Manley Brown.

Chester calling
upon the Service of Jamie Wallace and handing a Manor
debut to striker Ricky Hussein who takes the front slot
alongside Bradley Nelson. Popular defender Steve Reading
gets the nod to start alongside The Manor Skipper Steve
Willis returning from injury.
The Manor winning
the toss and decide to swap ends giving the visitors
the first half wind advantage.

The Braves force
an error within the Southend defence down the right,
Danny Dobson latches onto a loose ball and gets himself
into the penalty area, Dobson passes across goal to
the feet of Bradley Nelson who tries to curl the ball
towards goal but drifts out of play for a goal kick.

Southend taking
the initiative in the opening 10 minutes, pinning the
visitors back into their own half, take a free kick
on the edge of the box, the Eton Manor wall block a
fierce effort as the ball is driven out to safety.

Eton Manor come
close to opening the score, Jamie Wallace nods the ball
over the top of the advancing Southend back line and
into the path of Bradley Nelson, who tears off towards
the Southend goal, the ball bobbles slightly as Nelson
tries to take his shot, Southends keeper simply guides
the ball out of play.

Eton Manor break
free down the Southend left, midfield battler Danny
Dobson sets off on a mazy run towards goal, Dobson shrugging
off a few challenges gets within 20 yards of the Southend
goal fires his shot low to the right, the Southend Keeper
down to his left to make the first real stop of the
game so far!

Dobson again
tries his luck from outside the penalty area; the ball
this time curls just over the bar.
Into the second
period and Southend having the wind advantage get a
free kick 25 yards out, Andy Hall the Eton Manor keeper
spots the danger and makes a good save.

Jamie Wallace
sends a long ball across field to Ricky Hussein who
collects the ball down the right, the ball at his feet
as he bustles passed two yellow shirts, Hussein now
almost to the by-line and whips in the ball across goal
into the path of Wallace who made up 50 yards of ground
to get into position and from close range smashes the
ball into the net, 1-0 to the Braves.

Hussein again
drives forwards and gets within 15 yards of the Southend
goal, launches a bullet the Southend Keeper having to
make a fine save.

The visitors
now apply pressure to the Southend defence, Liam Mulcare
chips the ball into the path to Jamie Wallace who screams
off down the Southend right hand-side, Wallace into
the box and almost to the by-line tries to cross however,
the defender using his hands to push the ball out of
play, the referee not hesitating as his points to the
penalty spot.

Steve Reading
taking the responsibility smashes the ball home from
the penalty spot, the score now 2-0 to the Braves.
Manor make their
first substitute, Skipper Steve Willis struggling with
injury makes way for Ray Coker.

Eton Manor continue
to apply pressure to the Southend defence get their
3rd of the game, Bradley Nelson fires in a bullet from
20 yards out the Southend Manor keeper blocks the ball
but it drops kindly to the feet of Manor striker Ricky
Hussein who slides the ball into the net to score his
first goal for the Manor.

As the clock
ticks by the home side coming close, into the box and
drill a shot towards goal, Andy Hall making a tremendous
save to keep the score-line Southend Manor 0 Eton Manor
3.

A good solid
performance from Eton Manor in the second half, some
notable performances, a good debut ‘especially
in the second half from new signing Ricky Hussein, lacking
match fitness however, showed great ability in the air
and kept good possession of the ball, scoring 1 and
made another looks a good addition to the squad.

Another good
performance from Jamie Wallace today, again showed his
class, driving the Manor forward and scoring the Manor’s
opener.

Man of
the match goes to Jason Fox Manor's young defender,
Fox gaining confidence with every game worked hard &
gave a strong defensive performance today.
