Pre-Season 2009-10

Friendlies Round-Up

Eton Manor 0 Brentwood Town 2

Beaten Ryman One North play-off semi finalists Brentwood Town travelled to Manor’s new home at Barking in the opening fixture of pre-season and ran out 2-0 victors in a keenly contested match. However, the game was marred by a serious injury to Manor’s goalkeeper Nick Wilson who suffered a fractured ankle and is set to miss the first three months of the season.

Eton Manor 0 Waltham Forest 4

Manor boss Kevin Durrant responded by making 8 changes and including 4 trialists in his side to face more Ryman opposition, in the shape of Waltham Forest at Chigwell, and despite creating some decent openings Manor were poor defensively and slumped to a 4-0 defeat.

Leverstock Green 1 Eton Manor 2

The Braves then made the trip to Leverstock Green for the second consecutive pre-season and fell behind to an early penalty. However, a wonder strike by Tom Nyama and a late winner by experienced substitute Asa Pamplin gave the visitors their first victory of pre-season.

Eton Manor 2 Kentish Town 2

Kentish Town were the second team to face the Manor at Chigwell this summer and Kevin Durrant experimented with an unfamiliar 3-5-2 formation in the first half. It led to some early chances and Daniel Clarke put Manor in front. However, some sloppy defending followed allowing Kentish Town to lead 2-1 at half time. Manor reverted to a back 4 in the second half and despite dominating possession it took a late equaliser from substitute Joe May to secure a share of the spoils.
